Sidestream Press (SSP) was founded in 2023, Sydney, Australia. It is a non-commercial endeavour focusing on the publication of print material for the purpose of preserving cultural and historical memory, to educate the public, and encourage free intellectual inquiry.
We endeavour to publish manuscripts on a broad range of topics that do not find a voice in the mainstream publishing industry. These areas may broadly encompass history, theory, philosophy, jurisprudence, literary and cultural criticism.
SSP also intends to release a print journal of metapolitical observations and cultural review, approximately three times a year, subject to contributions (starting in 2025, it is likely the journal will be a semiannual). The Observer & Review (O&R) is registered through the National Library of Australia (Trove) with ISSN 2981-9237 and Libraries Australia ID 75139354. It can be purchased online at the publisher's webstore, or in-person at various cultural events in New South Wales which may be advertised in its pages.
Those who wish to publish through the SSP, whether it be books or articles for the O&R, are warmly encouraged to contact the editor below for more information.
The Observer & Review wish to acknowledge the English Speaking Union (Victorian div.) for its support in providing a generous grant in the years 2023-2024. Their assistance has been invaluable in making the success of this project possible.
